My name is Jinyi Shangguan (上官晋沂). I am an assistant professor at the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (KIAA) at Peking University. I got my Ph.D. in 2018 at Peking University, with studies of the interstellar medium of quasar host galaxies. Hereafter I joined the Infrared Group of Max-Planck Institute for extraterrestrial Physics (MPE), and has been working on observations and data analyses of the VLTI/GRAVITY interferometer. I joined KIAA in October 2024.
I study the physical properties of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) and galaxies with panchromatic observations using ground- and space-based telescopes. I am leading a Max Planck Partner Group, collaborating with the MPE Infrared Group, to explore the capability of infrared interferometry in extragalactic Universe. I am also spending a lot of efforts developing methods to measure the images and spectra, in particular from the space telescopes like HST, JWST, and CSST to be launched in the near future.
