My name is Changhao Chen (陈昌灏), and I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student studying the formation and evolution of supermassive black holes (SMBHs) and their host galaxies in the early Universe. I publish under the name Chang-Hao Chen, though many friends also call me by my English name, Louis (which, coincidentally, is pronounced the same as my advisor, Prof. Luis C. Ho—please don’t confuse us!).
My research focuses on understanding the intrinsic spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of AGNs, the ways in which host galaxy structures influence the behavior of their central engines, and how the energetic output of AGNs shapes galaxy evolution.
